Job Description

An experienced Mid Level SQL Annotator is being sought to support data annotation and machine learning initiatives. This role involves working with structured and unstructured datasets, writing advanced SQL queries, preparing high-quality training data, and collaborating with technical teams to improve AI and natural language understanding models. It is ideal for professionals with strong SQL expertise and a keen eye for data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Write advanced SQL queries using JOINs, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, and subqueries to extract training datasets.
• Prepare and transform structured and unstructured data using SQL functions and conditional logic.
• Review and annotate queried datasets while ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Develop SQL rules to automate pre-labeling of high-confidence data for annotation workflows.
• Create SQL audit queries to detect duplicates, missing values, conflicting labels, and other data quality issues.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers to validate annotation guidelines using real-world datasets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience writing advanced SQL queries.
• Strong understanding of SQL concepts including INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, CTEs, window functions, and data transformation techniques.
• Experience using data annotation platforms such as Labelbox or SuperAnnotate.
• Knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
