Job Description

TeKnowledge is hiring a UI / UX Engineer to join its team in Victoria Island, Lagos. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented professional with experience designing intuitive digital experiences and building reusable UI components. The successful candidate will collaborate with design and engineering teams to create consistent, user-friendly interfaces while contributing to the development of scalable design systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop reusable UI components and templates using Figma.
  • Collaborate with designers and software engineers to ensure design consistency and technical feasibility.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve a scalable design system across multiple products.
  • Create interactive prototypes to validate concepts and enhance user experiences.
  • Conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback to improve designs.
  • Stay updated on UI/UX trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product quality.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.
  • Experience designing and developing reusable UI components and templates.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and user experience best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design and engineering expertise.
  • Completion of the mandatory one-year NYSC programme or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
  • A valid and up-to-date National Identity Card (NIMC) slip is required upon resumption.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of design systems and accessibility standards.
  • Experience conducting usability testing and user research.
