Job Description
The Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) is seeking an experienced Grants and Operations Manager to support the Africa Youth Climate Fund (AYCF) by leading grants management, operational systems, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

Contract Duration: 1 Year (Renewable, subject to performance and funding availability)
Reports To: Director, Africa Youth Climate Fund
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and improve grant management systems, policies, procedures, and operational processes.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including application review, due diligence, contracting, disbursement coordination, monitoring, amendments, and grant close-out.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, legal regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate grant review processes and maintain accurate grant documentation and reporting systems.
- Strengthen operational systems, procurement processes, risk management frameworks, and organizational procedures.
- Support grantee onboarding, compliance monitoring, reporting, and grant accountability throughout project implementation.
- Work closely with finance and program teams to coordinate grant budgets, payments, financial documentation, and audit readiness.
- Develop operational dashboards, performance reports, and management information to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance on grants management, compliance, procurement, and organizational operations.
- Promote continuous improvement, accountability, transparency, and effective collaboration across teams.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Law, Project Management, Nonprofit Management, Climate Finance, or a related field. A Bachelor’s Degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in grants management, donor-funded programs, compliance, operations, or nonprofit administration.
- Proven experience managing the complete grants lifecycle from design through close-out.
- Strong knowledge of donor compliance requirements, grant governance, risk management, and institutional systems.
- Experience developing operational policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience using grant management or project management systems is an added advantage.
- Passion for youth leadership, climate justice, locally led development, and equitable climate finance.
Salary
Competitive monthly remuneration of USD 2,700–3,000 (Gross), depending on experience, location, and internal equity.
